Well, now the show is over and its time to say good-bye to The Grange (aka, “The Country Club”) for now - and I think it we can safely say that the first ever UK Airsoft Arms Fair was a total success.

We had a fantastic day today, and I’m sure that everyone else who attended did as well. We saw a pretty impressive range of airsoft possibilities on display today too – everything from the somewhat bizarre (steam-punk, mutant, Nazi, zombies!) to the absolutely brilliant (Ares PPsh-41) and a wide range in-between…

A particular something else in the “brilliant” category was the Gunmunki workshop tucked away in one of the outbuildings next to the car park. It was like a true Aladdin’s Cave of combat clothing and custom guns. First, there were the sets of overdyed Swiss combats that were used in the film adaptation of Richard III – this film re-imagined Shakespeare’s Richard III set in a Fascist version of 1930’s Britain, and the overdyed “Alpenflage” uniforms were used by Richard III’s troops.

Then there was the MP5SD fitted with a telescoping M4 Crane stock. These types of stocks have started to turn up on more and more different types of guns – and they haven’t always been positively received – but this is one execution that definitely gets the “thumbs up” from us! Check it out at Gunmunki’s online shop.

Finally, special word of thanks to the boys from GASS (for looking after the Airsoft Soldier booth while I was away blogging). Nice one fellas! And a mention-in-dispatches for Stirling Airsoft as well – for keeping us all entertained with their “hoorah” promo-videos, micro-UAV, and airsoft Mini-Gun (let’s see it in action next time chaps!).

Having had a such a great day today, we’re now looking forward to the next Airsoft Arms Fair. We’ll be there – will you?

Speaking of Rogues, Badger Tac should win some kind of prize for having the biggest vehicle on site! And yes, they really were selling tactical gear and guns that had literally “fallen off the back of a lorry”.

Greetings from The Grange, sometimes described as “a country club for combat sports” – the site of the first UK Airsoft Arms Fair.

As the only official airsoft media partner of the show, we’re able to bring you something very exciting – we’ve had an up close and personal encounter with the only MagPul PTS Masada/ACR AEG prototype available in the world! This world exclusive has been made possible by the good people at Edgar Brothers Airsoft Division and Dingodogs Airsoft.

Watch out for an in-depth field report of using the Masada in skirmishing, but for now I can report that this is one of the most solid-feeling AEGs I’ve ever handled – and the Masada also promises to be probably the most flexible and easily adaptable AEGs you’ll ever see. In the meantime, enjoy the photos below (click on the picture to enlarge).

The Airsoft Soldier magazine is proud to announce that we have become the official media partner of the UK Airsoft Arms Fair, Satruday 22 May 2010.

Airsoft Arms Fair is a trade and retail event for Airsofters and people interested in the sport to view a wide range of products all in one place. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet event and site managers and find out about a variety of different types of airsoft gaming possibilities; including, Skirmishes, MilSim & FilmSim events.

The Fair also provides attendees the opportunity to browse a variety of Trade and private seller stalls – enabling airsofters to pick up some great deals on new and used guns and equipment, as well as tracking down those hard-to-find gems that have been missing from your loadout.

Now printed in the UK, Airsoft Soldier is dedicated to all things airsoft, and is put together by a team with deep experience in airsoft journalism. Meet members of the Airsoft Soldier team at the AAF and let us know what you think of the magazine. You’ll also be able to buy copies of the current issue – as well as back issues – and find out more about our plans for the future.
