Airsoft Facebook fan page

The Airsoft Hub connects Teams & Players on Facebook

Started in February 2010, the Airsoft Hub is born of a simple idea: leveraging Facebook to connect Airsoft players and teams all over the world. Thanks to the contribution of its members, the Airsoft Hub is now the fastest growing Airsoft fanpage on Facebook and one of the most active community online.

The Airsoft Hub offers simple features such as news, reviews, forums, ingame photos and tactical resources thanks to partnerships with big players.  As Airsoft gets more and more popular around the world, the Airsoft Hub will help the Community raise its game.  The Hub will also son be focusing on new features such as an Airsoft Marketplace and an International Airsoft Events Calendar.

To join the community visit their Facebook page on  http://www.facebook.com/pages/Airsoft/293290627970 and click on “I like”.

UK Airsoft Arms Fair show Blog #4 – The Grand Finale

Saturday, May 22nd, 2010

Well, now the show is over and its time to say good-bye to The Grange (aka, “The Country Club”) for now - and I think it we can safely say that the first ever UK Airsoft Arms Fair was a total success.

Airsoft Arms Fair

We had a fantastic day today, and I’m sure that everyone else who attended did as well.  We saw a pretty impressive range of airsoft possibilities on display today too – everything from the somewhat bizarre (steam-punk, mutant, Nazi, zombies!) to the absolutely brilliant (Ares PPsh-41) and a wide range in-between…

A particular something else in the “brilliant” category was the Gunmunki workshop tucked away in one of the outbuildings next to the car park.  It was like a true Aladdin’s Cave of combat clothing and custom guns.  First, there were the sets of overdyed Swiss combats that were used in the film adaptation of Richard III – this film re-imagined Shakespeare’s Richard III set in a Fascist version of 1930’s Britain, and the overdyed “Alpenflage” uniforms were used by Richard III’s troops.

Then there was the MP5SD fitted with a telescoping M4 Crane stock.  These types of stocks have started to turn up on more and more different types of guns – and they haven’t always been positively received – but this is one execution that definitely gets the “thumbs up” from us!  Check it out at Gunmunki’s online shop.

Finally, special word of thanks to the boys from GASS (for looking after the Airsoft Soldier booth while I was away blogging).  Nice one fellas!  ;-)   And a mention-in-dispatches for Stirling Airsoft as well – for keeping us all entertained with their “hoorah” promo-videos, micro-UAV, and airsoft Mini-Gun (let’s see it in action next time chaps!).

Having had a such a great day today, we’re now looking forward to the next Airsoft Arms Fair.  We’ll be there – will you?

UK Airsoft Arms Fair show Blog #3 – A Grand Day Out

Saturday, May 22nd, 2010

So, here we are about half-way through the afternoon of the show – and so far it appears to have been a resounding success, with over 300 airsoft skirmishers having passed through the gates to browse the offering from a wide range of retailers and private sellers.

Its been a great day for us too – making lots of new friends, and catching up with old ones.  Enjoy our gallery of show highlights – aka, a Rogues Gallery of Likely Suspects…

Speaking of Rogues, Badger Tac should win some kind of prize for having the biggest vehicle on site!  And yes, they really were selling tactical gear and guns that had literally “fallen off the back of a lorry”.

UK Airsoft Arms Fair show Blog #2 – Airbana Worldwide Airsoft Maps

Saturday, May 22nd, 2010

We have to say a big THANKS to the guys from Airbana for providing the WiFi network that’s enabling us to continue to bring you more highlights of today’s UK Airsoft Arms Fair.

If you haven’t visited the Airbana – Airsoft Map Network yet, you really should!  For example, here’s the UK map.

UK Airsoft Arms Fair show Blog #1 MagPul PTS Masada/ACR AEG

Saturday, May 22nd, 2010

Greetings from The Grange, sometimes described as “a country club for combat sports” – the site of the first UK Airsoft Arms Fair.

As the only official airsoft media partner of the show, we’re able to bring you something very exciting – we’ve had an up close and personal encounter with the only MagPul PTS Masada/ACR AEG prototype available in the world!  This world exclusive has been made possible by the good people at Edgar Brothers Airsoft Division and Dingodogs Airsoft.

Watch out for an in-depth field report of using the Masada in skirmishing, but for now I can report that this is one of the most solid-feeling AEGs I’ve ever handled – and the Masada also promises to be probably the most flexible and easily adaptable AEGs you’ll ever see.  In the meantime, enjoy the photos below (click on the picture to enlarge).

The MagPul PTS Masada/ACR AEG is expected to be available from late June / early July.  If you’re in the UK and want to pre-order one, visit Dingodogs Airsoft.  Edgar Brothers Airsoft Division are also conducting a draw for a FREE MASADA (!) at the Arms Fair.
